“No, I don’t mean that you should leave. Your mother is too fond of you and she’ll send someone after you. No, you can’t just take what you want…but perhaps if you had allies…on both the inside and the outside…“ Vaylin smirked and she leaned slightly closer to her younger stepbrother. “You understand what I mean, don’t you?”
“I do know what you mean. If I got the Knights to side with me as well as others.” He rubbed at his chin for a moment, “We might be onto something… I can get my contacts in the Order to help, but getting the people on my side might be another problem fully.”
Kader let out a grunt, he was ‘forced’ to be checked out after the explosion that happened due to his idiotic attempt to rewire his own lightsaber. Yes, it looked like he wasn’t exactly skilled in making them, but at least he was able to get the blasted thing away from him just before it did explode… mostly at least.
“Oh, trust me, I’m sure I can.” Revan replied, reaching to take hold of her son and tug him so that she could tuck him against her side. Beginning to pet his hair as she had done since he was little she continued, “Both myself and your father are very good at simply got giving a fuck about what other people think.”
Revan laughed again. “What’s a few years to an immortal being? I’ve seen centuries go by, and you?” she shook her head. “You’ve only seen a small fraction of that. And I can assure you, your father never crawls back to me, though I suppose I can see how it would appear to be that way to you.”
She smiled at her son and stepped closer to her, reaching out to gently brush her fingers across his face. “I do know you wish to leave, but it seems I am a selfish mother. You can’t blame me for wanting to keep you safe, can you?”
A low hiss escaped his lips as her fingers touched his flesh, he wanted so badly to just smack her, but knew deep down that it would only make the situation worse as he went into silence.
There was no need for an answer; he knew she was selfish, but as for keeping him safe? No, he wouldn’t let her know the answer to that — there was no need for the moment.
The Tesseract had virtually none of the same desires as humans, or any other living beings for that matter. It wasn’t going to let some MORTAL who couldn’t control his EMOTIONS get what he wanted.
‘ Remember that I have more POWER than you. Do you REALLY want to test that ?’ it hissed.
‘ I think I do want to test that. You might SAY you have more POWER than me, but honestly? I think that would be quite amusing to see.’ There was then a pause, ‘ Obviously, there are even things you don’t know about little girl. ‘
“Can I at least cut your mom’s vocal cords out so she can’t do that damned annoying laugh of hers anymore?” Aeon asked, like he was asking if he could just come over and hang out.
“Be my guest.” He stated with a chuckle, “Obviously, I get more from my father’s side, but do remember to make it… painful. I would hate for her to get an easy death.”
“I say we figure out how to kill your parents and then bust you out,” Aeon said with a small smirk. “Because I have the distinct feeling they’ll cut you off even if they accept your apology.”
“If my parents are killed, I will take the throne, Aeon. Nothing will stop me from that specific honor.” A smirk formed across his own lips, “I may be a Knight of Ren, but I also am going to take what is mine.” However, he ended up ignoring the simple fact of what they would do to him if they accepted what he would say. After all, actually taking care to listen warnings wasn’t in his strong-suit.
“Yeah well she’s still pissed at you for it,” Aeon grumbled. “And you know I consider her a little sister so…” He shrugged and tucked his dagger back into his coat, falling silent for a while before speaking again. “So aside from all this shit how’ve you been?”
“Besides not even allowed anywhere with out armed guards, escorts, and if I make one move out of line? I am threatened with the whole..’your connection to the Force will be eradicated’ deal.”
Kader couldn’t help, but scoff at his own words, “I don’t doubt she would be pissed — she is Kylo’s daughter after all.” He then bit his lower lip, “Remember when I used to tell you about the Empire? How I wanted out so badly? I still do…. I would give anything to get out of these walls… besides the options I have.”
Aeon scoffed as he twirled his dagger in his hand. “After you ran back home like a crybaby, somebody had to guard your girlfriend until she gets her training done…or is she your ex by now?”
“I was dragged back home, Aeon. There is a difference between those two distinctions, but I am going to tell you the same exact thing I told her.”
Kader folded his arms across his chest with a slight grin, “I’m heir to the Eternal Throne. I was dragged back home and I can’t leave here until both of them are content with my apologizes.”
The shove was HARSH and UNEXPECTED, && the wall cold. The Tesseract considered itself an expert on reading && playing with others emotions..but THIS. This was NOT planned.
Its eyes flicked up to the other’s, bitter, but able to contain any feelings.
‘ I’m flattered, but uninterested, ’ raising an eyebrow at the other, its voice filled with sarcasm. ‘ I don’t mix business with pleasure. ’
He couldn’t HELP, but scoff at that — she was nothing more than a simple toy, she would be CAST aside soon enough, but part of him wanted to be with her. His whole body LUSTED for her even though he knew that it wasn’t something that he should be doing at all.
‘ I don’t care && I would I would expect that you would know that I always get what I want… one way or three others ’
“So that’s it?” Bella snapped. “You’re just going to let yourself be practically enslaved by your parents?”
Her voice dropped to a near whisper as she continued, “You said once that your home was with me. I’m not staying here so you better either change your mind or prepare to never see me again.”
No Bella don’t cry, she ordered herself as tears pricked the corners of her eyes. This has to happen in order to get him to think about it…
Kader couldn’t help, but snap back at her, “I am HEIR to the Eternal throne, Bella. I am more than just a Knight of Ren and more than simply an idiotic boy like you seem to think I am.”
Oh, he was getting pissed off quickly as he took a step forward, “You’re right, my home is with you, bit my place… if I am to keep my connection to the Force is here.”
Ignoring the insinuation that she wished she could be as free as she was before Revan had showed up out of seemingly nowhere to take the throne as Eternal Empress, a smirk settled onto her face as she moved closer to Kader. “Oh, I know exactly what it’s like to be trapped here with no way out. Perhaps I can help you do something about it…”
“How would you do that?” He asked as an eyebrow was lofted, “I can’t just leave… I can’t just… take whatever I want.” A slight grin spread across his lips, “Tell me what you can do.”
She tried not to laugh, really she did, but she just couldn’t help it. “Free? You wanted to be free? Oh, sweetheart, I understand that feeling better than you probably think but none of us are free, not even your father and I.”
Revan had to choose her words carefully now. “If it had been up to me, I would have allowed you to explore the galaxy as you like, but unfortunately you just don’t have the luxury.”
“If it had been up to anyone else, I wouldn’t have left, but it’s not — you know exactly why I left.” Kader then snorted, “You have more freedom then I have — if you haven’t noticed? He seems to vanish for years at a time before crawling back to you like some insect.”
A low growl erupted from his throat, “I am not like him nor am I willing to be trapped in this damned Empire any longer than I need to — I want out… you know this.”
She didn’t know what to say in response and simply sighed softly, continuing to pet her son’s hair. She would never admit it, but she understood the feelings Kader was having at this time. It was painfully similar to how she had felt among the Jedi who had refused to come with her to fight against the Mandalorians. True, she’d never had to worry about living up to the expectations of her parents and the subjects of an Empire, but she’d been a Jedi.
Kader bit his lower lip for a moment before he let out a deep sigh — he shouldn’t have even thought about saying anything, but instead of pushing the subject he just lowered his head, and went completely silent.
“Get as bad as you want, we won’t let you go—-especially if you’re just going to return to the First Order and the Knight of Ren. Your father and I have both voiced our displeasure and distaste and since you won’t listen we are forced to take drastic measures.”
Revan sighed. “And I’m sure if they had known you were the heir to the Eternal Throne they would have used you from the beginning.” Of course, she thought that was what had happened anyway, but that was besides the point.
“Does it matter? I joined them to forget about everything — Mostly, it was to forget about who I was really, but that…. that is besides the point.”
His eyes locked onto Revan’s own for only a moment before he closed them tightly again, “Maybe if I didn’t leave things wouldn’t have been like this. I could have been great — I could have stayed inside the borders and not known about the Galaxy at large.”
A frown tugged at the corners of Revan’s mouth. “And why, exactly, would you want to forget who you are? As you can see trying to avoid it only created a situation that is probably worse than if you had just been content with your lot in life.”
“You could have been safe.” she replied. “You could have known about the galaxy at large but not wanted to experience it for yourself. Or if you did than allowed yourself to do so by our rules.”
“Why wouldn’t I? I wanted to be out in the Galaxy — I just needed to be free.” He shook his head for a moment, “It seems I can’t be either way… maybe if things were different? Maybe.”
Kader than sighed, “I never wanted to be safe — I wanted to forget to know there was more to the Galaxy than the Empire.”
